حلت مدينة مراكش في المركز الرابع من حيث الكثافة السكانية في المغرب، حسب معطيات التقرير الإحصائي السنوي لعام 2022، الصادر عن المندوبية السامية للتخطيط بخصوص تطور السكان المغاربة في الجهات والمدن.
وحسب المصدر ذاته، فإن مدينة مراكش تضم حاليا ما مجموعه مليون و417 ألف و41 نسمة، خلف مدن الدار البيضاء (3 ملايين و594 ألف و352 نسمة)، وفاس (مليون و265 ألف و648 نسمة) وطنجة (مليون و240 ألف و842 نسمة)، وهي من بين ست مدن إلى جانب مدينتي القنيطرة وسلا، التي تتخطى حاجز مليون نسمة في المغرب.
وعلى مستوى الجهات، فقد حلت جهة مراكش آسفي في المركز الثالث بما مجموعه 4 ملايين و816 ألف و267 نسمة، خلف جهتي الدار البيضاء سطات (7 ملايين و502 ألف و556 نسمة) والرباط سلا القنيطرة (4 ملايين و915 ألف و673 نسمة).
