طور باحثون سويسريون روبوتات صغيرة قادرة على "السباحة" في جسم الإنسان، لإيصال الدواء إلى الأنسجة المريضة.
ويبلغ طول الروبوت الذي طوره باحثون في المعهد الفدرالي السويسري للتكنولوجيا في زيورخ ولوزان، 5 ميليمترات تقريبا، وهو قادر على التنقل بسهولة في القنوات الضيقة بجسم الإنسان.
وبمقدور هذه الروبوتات تغيير شكلها وسرعتها، لتصبح قادرة على المرور عبر الأوعية الدموية الدقيقة والسوائل الثخينة في الجسد، وفق ما نقلت صحيفة "ديلي ميل" البريطانية.
وصنعت الروبوتات، التي لم يطلق عليها اسم بعد، من مادة هلامية تستجيب للحرارة، بالإضافة إلى جسيمات نانو مغناطيسية، حسب ما ذكر مؤلفو الدراسة التي نشرت في مجلة "ساينس أدافنسز".
ولجعل الروبوتات تتحرك بشكل فعال، فقد استوحى العلماء حركتها من تلك الخاصة بالبكتيريا، التي تتنقل من مكان لآخر باستعمال ذيل يشبه المروحة أو السوط.
واختبر العلماء الروبوتات في سائل ذو لزوجة مشابهة لتلك الخاصة بالدم، وقد أظهرت تحركها بشكل سريع.
وبحسب سلمان ساكار، وهو من الباحثين المشرفين على تطوير الروبوتات، فإن لهذه الأجهزة "تركيبا وهيكلا خاصا يسمح لها بالتأقلم مع خصائص السائل الذي تتحرك فيه".
وقال: "عندما تواجه تغيرا في اللزوجة أو التركيب، فإنها تغير من شكلها للحفاظ على سرعتها وقدرتها على المناورة، دون فقدان السيطرة على اتجاه الحركة".
ويمكن برمجة التغييرات في شكل الروبوتات مسبقا، لزيادة فعاليتها.
