فيسبوك أمام القضاء للتجسس على المستخدمين عبر ‘إنستغرام’

تنظر محكمة سان فرانسيسكو الأميركية في قضية ضد تطبيق "إنستغرام" والشركة المالكة " فيسبوك" بتهمة التجسس على مستخدمي التطبيق من خلال الاستخدام غير المصرح به لكاميرات هواتفهم.
وذكرت تقارير أميركية أن الدعوى تشير إلى أن التطبيق يصل إلى كاميرات الهواتف الجوال لمستخدمي تطبيق "إنستغرام"، حتى عندما لا يكون المستخدمون يتصفحون التطبيق، لجمع بيانات خاصة بطريقة غير مصرحة بها لاستغلالها بعد ذلك في الإعلانات لتحقيق أرباح قيّمة، فيما نفت الشركة التهمة، مشيرة إلى أنه حدث خطأ وسيتم العمل على تصحيحه.
وظهرت تقارير عن هذه القضايا في يوليو الماضي. وقالت "فيسبوك" إن خللا في نظام التشغيل التجريبي لـ IOS14 كان مسؤولا عن تشغيل الكاميرا لدى بعض المستخدمين في حين أنهم لا يستخدمونها في الواقع، وأنها تعمل على إصلاحه.
ووفقا لوكالة بلومبيرغ، فإن مستخدمة "إنستغرام"، وتدعى بريتني كونديتي رفعت دعوى قضائية ضد عملاق وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي في محكمة اتحادية في سان فرانسيسكو.
وتدعي كونديتي أن تطبيق "إنستغرام" كان يصل إلى الكاميرات عن قصد "لجمع بيانات مربحة وقيّمة عن المستخدمين والتي لن يتمكن من الوصول إليها لولا ذلك".
وتقول الدعوى: "بالحصول على بيانات شخصية شديدة الخصوصية وحميمية عن مستخدميها، بما في ذلك خصوصية منازلهم، يمكن لفيسبوك زيادة عائدات إعلاناتها من خلال استهداف المستخدمين أكثر من أي وقت مضى".
وقالت أيضا إن "فيسبوك" "قادرة على رؤية، في الوقت الفعلي، كيف يستجيب المستخدمون للإعلانات على "إنستغرام"، ما يوفر معلومات قيّمة للغاية للمعلنين".
