عادت ظاهرة الاعتداءات الجنسية على الأطفال من جديد إلى مدينة الصويرة، التي لم تعتد على تسجيل حالات ممارسة الجنس على القاصرين، وذلك على غرار ما يقع بمدن مختلفة بالمغرب، والتي تعرف انتشارا لهذه الظاهرة بما في ذلك مدينة مراكش.

وتعرف ظاهرة الإعتداءات الجنسية على الأطفال ارتفاعا قياسيا في السنوات الأخيرة،حيث سجلت بالمملكة أزيد من ألف حالة سنويا وفق الاحصائيات التي أوردها الائتلاف ضد الاعتداءات الجنسية على الأطفال بالمغرب، إذ لم تشفع الجهود المبذولة عبر تجريم الإستغلال الجنسي للأطفال من الحد من هاته الظاهرة، التي يعاقب عليها القانون المغربي بين بين سنتين وخمس سنوات طبقا للفصل 484 من القانون الجنائي، وذلك في حال هتك عرض أو محاولة هتكه المرتكب على كل طفل أو طفلة يقل سنه عن 18 سنة.
