يطور باحثون فرنسيون مايقولون إنه أكبر جهاز أشعة بالرنين المغناطيسي في العالم سيمكن من التشخيص المبكر لأمراض مثل الشلل الرعاش. ويحتوي الجهاز على مغناطيس كبير في وزن الحوت الأزرق.
وقال نيكولاس بولان المدير العلمي لهذا المشروع لرويترز "قد نتمكن من اكتشاف المرض في مراحله المبكرة وبالتالي نراقبه بصورة أدق".
ويشمل جهاز الأشعة الجديد، الذي يطوره الباحثون الفرنسيون مغناطيسا كبيرا جديدا اسطواني الشكل لكنه أثقل بكثير من تلك المستخدمة حاليا.
ويبلغ طول المغناطيس العملاق خمسة أمتار وقطره خمسة أمتار أيضا ووزنه 130 طنا متريا، وهو وزن حوت أزرق.
وأضاف بولان أن المشروع سيسمح أيضا للعلماء "بفهم أفضل للدماغ وكيفية عمله وبدراسة خصائص أمور مرتبطة بالجنس البشري مثل الموسيقى والرياضيات واللغة".
