ووفق ذات المصدر فالإقالة تمت على خلفية عدم قدرة ابن سيدي قاسم على منح الإضافة لفارس النخيل، حيث ومنذ قدومه خسر أربع مباريات وفاز في واحدة، بينما قدم الفريق في جل هذه المباريات مستوى غير مقبول.
وكانت اللجنة من المرتقب أن تقيل عزيز العامري بعد الهزيمة بالرباط امام الفتح، حيث سبق وأن أشرنا لذلك في مقال سابق، لكن مطالب العامري دفعت الى تأجيل القرار.
