خلصت دراسة جديدة إلى أن دواء يتناوله الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، بشكل يومي لمكافحة الصلع، قد يساعد ملايين الرجال حول العالم ويحميهم من مرض خطير.
وذكرت الدراسة التي استغرقت نحو 20 عاما، أن عقار "فيناسترايد" الذي يعالج تساقط الشعر يساعد أيضا في مكافحة مرض سرطان البروستاتا، وفق ما أوردت صحيفة "ديلي ميل" البريطانية ، الخميس.
ويستخدم الرجال في الولايات المتحدة وبريطانيا هذا العقار، حتى لا يخسروا شعر رؤوسهم.
وقال باحثون في جامعة تكساس الأميركية، إن الرجال المعرضين لخطر الإصابة بسرطان البروستاتا، وهو الأمر الذي يظهر في اختبار فحص الدم الخاص بهذا المرض المعروف بـ (PSA)، فإنه يفضل منحهم أدوية تقلص فرص تطور المرض.
وأوضح الباحث المشارك في الدراسة، إيان طومسون، أنه جرى متابعة أكثر من 19 ألف حالة رجل منذ عام 1997، مشيرا إلى أن دواء "فيناسترايد" آمن وغير مكلف وفعّال في مجال الوقاية من المرض.
