وقد شغل الراحل، الذي يعد عضوا مؤسسا لحزب التجمع الوطني للأحرار وعضوا بمجلسه التنفيذي لمدة ثلاثين عاما، العديد من المناصب داخل الحكومة؛ من بينها وزير مكلف بالتخطيط والتنمية الجهوية (1979- 1982)، ووزير منتدب لدى الوزير الأول مكلف بالشؤون الاقتصادية (1983- 1985)، ووزير الصحة (1985- 1992)، كما كانعضوا بمجلس النواب في الفترة ما بين 1977 و 1984.
وحظي الراحل، الحاصل على دبلوم معهد الدراسات السياسية والمعهد الوطني للإحصاء والاقتصاد التطبيقي في باريس، بالعديد من التوشيحات على الصعيدين الوطني والدولي. وسيوارى جثمانه الثرى بعد صلاة العصر، اليوم الإثنين، بمقبرة حي الرياض في العاصمة.
