ساهمت كلية العلوم السملالية التابعة لجامعة القاضي عياض بمراكش، في انجاز دراسة تهم كائنات مجهرية يبلغ عمرها 571 مليون سنة، نشرت في عدد يونيو 2023 من مجلة (Scientific Report-Nature Publishing Group).
وتمكن فريق دولي من الباحثين، من جامعة بواتييه والمركز الوطني للبحث العلمي في فرنسا، وكلية العلوم السملالية بمراكش، لأول مرة، من خلال الدراسة، من تحديد الظروف البيئية القاسية التي ازدهرت فيها مجتمعات ميكروبية يبلغ عمرها 571 مليون سنة، في الأطلس الصغير المغربي.
وأظهرت الدراسة التي قام بها الفريق أن هذه الكائنات المجهرية لم تكن قادرة على البقاء فحسب، بل تطورت أيضا في بيئة قاسية لبحيرة بركانية تحت التأثير الحراري المائي (درجات حرارة عالية)، تتميز بتركيزات عالية وسامة من الزرنيخ (arsenic)، وهي ظروف مماثلة لتلك الموجودة على كوكب المريخ.
