كشفت إدارة فريق شباب ابن جرير لكرة القدم قبل قليل من عشية اليوم السبت عبر بلاغ اصدرته، عن تأكد اصابة ستة لاعبين بفيروس كوفيد-19، بعد خضوعهم لمسحة طبية بأحد فنادق المدينة، الذي تتواجد بهن عناصر الفريق بعد الدخول في تجمع مغلق، تنفيذا لتعليمات الجامعة الملكية المغربية لكرة القدم.
وكان لاعبا بالفريق الرحماني، قد تأكدت اصابته بفيروس كورونا نهاية شهر غشت القادم، بعد الخضوع للتحاليل المخبرية، عقب خوض مواجهة أمام وداد تمارة، ما تسبب في توقف رحلة الفريق التي كانت متوجهة صوب مدينة الحسيمة لمواجهة فريقها المحلي، وتأجيل المباراة التي كانت مبرمجة يوم الأربعاء 26 غشت.
وفور التأكد من اصابة لاعب بالفيروس، خضعت مكونات الفريق لمسحة طبية، أكدت اصابة 8 لاعبين آخرين وعضو بالمكتب المسير، قبل أن ينضاف إليهم ستة لاعبين آخرين لتصبح الحصيلة 16 مصابا بالوباء.
