توجت مدينة مراكش في صنف المدن العصرية، ضمن جوائز أفضل مدن العالم، الذي يقيمه المعهد الحضري الأمريكي (American Urban Institute)، بشراكة مع شركة « لانسيون ميديا » لأبحاث السوق والبيانات.
واختارت لجنة الجوائز مدينة مراكش من بين أفضل عشر مدن عصرية في العالم، إلى جانب مدن نيويورك وهونج كونج وآرليس وباريس وميلانو ولندن وروما وشنغهاي وطوكيو.
واعتمدت نتائج الجوائز على استطلاعات الرأي، من خلال جمع البيانات من أصوات الأشخاص لأفضل 10 مدن في كل فئة بناء على عوامل مختلفة مثل الثقافة والمطبخ والتسوق والقيمة الإجمالية.
