وبسط العداء المغربي سيطرة مطلقة على السباق الذي قطعه في توقيت قدره 47 ثانية و59 جزء من المائة محطما بالتالي الرقم القياسي العالمي لهذه المسافة .
وعادت الميدالية الفضية للامريكي نواه مالون ، الذي حل ثانيا بتوقيت 47 ثانية و 93 جزء من المائة ، فيما جاء التونسي رؤي جبابلي في المركز الثالث ليحرز الميدالية البرونزية بزمن قدره 48 ثانية و 93 جزء من المائة .
في حين اكتفى العداء المغربي الآخر المهدي أفري بالمركز الرابع ، حيث لم يسعفه الحظ في إضافة إحدى الميداليات للمغرب ضمن هذه الفئة.
وأحرز العداء محمد أمكون الميدالية الفضية الثانية للمغرب في دورة الألعاب الاولمبية الموازية « البارالمبية » المقامة حاليا في العاصمة اليابانية طوكيو، عقب احتلاله المركز الثاني في سباق 400 متر – فئة ضعاف البصر (T 13) ، والذي جرى صباح اليوم الخميس .
واحتل أمكون الرتبة الثانية في السباق بتوقيت قدره 47 ثانية و70 جزء من المائة، فيما آلت الميدالية الذهبية للجزائري اسكندر جميل عثماني ،الذي حطم الرقم القياسي العالمي قاطعا السباق في توقيت قدره 46 ثانية و70 جزء من المائة.
وعادت الميدالية النحاسية للعداء النامبيبي جوهانس نامبالا بتوقيت 48 ثانية و 76 جزء من المائة .
وكان أمكون ،الحامل للرقم القياسي العالمي السابق، قد توج في دورة ريو دي جانيرو في البرازيل سنة 2016 بالذهبية، علما أنه حقق برونزية دورة لندن التي جرت سنة 2012.
وبهذا الانجاز المزدوج المحقق من قبل العداءين حيلي و امكون يرتفع رصيد المغرب الى خمس ميداليات (ذهبية و فضيتان و نحسيتان).
