بلغ عدد اللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء في مدينة مراكش ما مجموعه 488 شخصا، وفقا لإحصائيات شهر شتنبر الصادرة عن مكتب المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين بالرباط.
وحلت مراكش بين أكثر خمس مدن مغربية، التي تضم أكبر عدد من اللاجئين، إلى جانب الرباط بحوالي 1328 شخصا، والدار البيضاء بحوالي 923 شخصا، ووجدة بما يناهز 775 شخصا، والناظور بـ660.
وعلى المستوى الوطني، تفيد الاحصائيات، فقد بلغ عدد اللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء حوالي 15 ألفا و755 شخصا، ينحدرون من 48 دولة عبر العالم.
