وحسب شهود عيان، فإن المتسبب في الحادثة، هو شاب عمد قبل ثوان من الاصطدام إلى سرقة حقيبة فتاة كانت تمر بالقرب من المكان، حيث وبعد محاولة فراره اصطدمت دراجته بدراجة أخرى، لسيقط أرضا غير قادر على الحركة.
هذا، وفور علمهم بالواقعة انتقل رجال الأمن إلى عين المكان، حيث تم تحرير محضر في الواقعة مع فتح بحث في ظروفها وملابساتها.
