رغم تقديمه لمستويات جد عالية مع فريقه العين الإمارتي، قرر الناخب الوطني وحيد خاليلوزيتش عدم استدعاء المتألق سفيان رحيمي.
وبهذا الخصوص قال الناخب الوطني إن عدم إستدعائه للاعب سفيان رحيمي للمباراة الفاصلة ضد منتخب الكونغو الديموقراطية يعود لكونه إستدعى لاعبين يلعبون في نفس المركز الذي يلعب فيه رحيمي.
وأضاف وحيد : » رحيمي لاعب موهوب يقدم مستويات جيدة، لكنني إرتأيت أن لا أستدعيه لوجود لاعبين يلعبون في نفس المركز مثل بوفال والحدادي« ، مردفا الناخب سأظل أتابع سفيان في مبارياته.
