وجرى توقيف المشتبه فيه في الخمسينيات من عمره، على مستوى حي الفتح بمدينة خنيفرة، في شاحنة قادمة من منطقة سيدي عمرو ومتوجهة صوب إقليم ميدلت، حسب مصادر محلية متطابقة.

وقد تم وضع السائق رهن تدابير الحراسة النظرية بتعليمات من النيابة العامة المختصة لمعرفة ظروف وملابسات الواقعة مع الحجز على الشاحنة لفائدة البحث.
