اندلع قبل قليل من زوال اليوم الأربعاء حريق مهول بأحد المحلات التجارية الخاص ببيع الأفرشة، الكائن بحي كنون بتراب مقاطعة النخيل، مخلفا خسائر مادية جسيمة، دون تسجيل خسائر في الأرواح، لحسن الحظ.
و استفر الحادث عناصر الوقاية المدنية والسلطات المحلية والأمنية بعد إخطارها بالواقعة، حيث هرعت على الفور إلى عين المكان، إذ تمكن رجال الاطفال بمعية بعض الجيران من إخماد الحريق قبل ان يصل الى المنازل والمحلات المجاورة.
وقد قامت المصالح الأمنية بتحرياتها للكشف عن أسباب اندلاع الحريق وملابساته.
