وأرجعت المصادر أسباب تعرض الاربعيني للصعقة الكهربائية اٍلى خلل في المحول الكهربائي، تسبب فيه كهربائي أتى به صاحب المنزل لإصلاح عطب في التيار الكهربائي في المنزل.
وحسب مصادر مقربة من الاربعيني فاٍن الأخير قرر اللجوء اٍلى السلطات المحلية قصد متابعة الكهربائي الذي كاد يتسبب في كارثة لولا الألطاف الالهية.
