حلت مدينة مراكش ضمن المراكز العشرة الأولى لقائمة أكثر المدن زيارة خلال سنة 2019، على مستوى منطقة الشرق الأوسط وافريقيا، حسب التقرير الذي أصدرته المؤسسة البريطانية "أورومونيتور أنترناسيونال".
وسجلت مدينة مراكش ما يناهز 3 ملايين زائر أجنبي خلال السنة الجارية، محتلة المركز التاسع، خلف كل من دبي (16.3 مليون زائر) ومكة (9.8 مليون زائر) والمدينة (8.8 مليون زائر) والقاهرة (6.8 مليون زائر) والرياض (6 مليون زائر) وجوهانزبورغ (5.5 مليون زائر) والقدس (4.46 مليون زائر) ثم الدمام (3.59 مليون زائر).
يشار أن التقرير شمل أزيد من 400 مدينة عبر العالم، وتم احتساب عدد السياح الأجانب فقط الذين زاروا هذه المدن وقضوا فيها يوم واحد على الأقل، دون الأخذ بعين الاعتبار السياح المحليين.
