يوتيوب والأطفال.. نقلة ثورية على الطريق
في ظل تحقيق لجنة التجارة الفيدرالية الأميركية، يدرس المسؤولون التنفيذيون في موقع "يوتيوب" تحويل محتوى الأطفال إلى تطبيق منفصل، مع إزالة ميزة التشغيل التلقائي، في محاولة لحماية المشاهدين الصغار.
وينظر الموقع المملوك لشركة "ألفابت" في إدخال تغييرات بعيدة المدى على نظامه الأساسي، بعد سلسلة من الحوادث وضعته في موقف حرج.
وذكرت صحيفة "وول ستريت جورنال" أن المديرين التنفيذيين في وحدة "غوغل" يناقشون نقل المحتوى الخاص بالأطفال إلى تطبيق منفصل قائم بذاته، وهو تطبيق "يوتيوب كيدز"، لتوفير حماية أفضل للصغار من مقاطع الفيديو غير المرغوب فيها، على حد تعبير الأشخاص الذين أطلعوا على المحادثات.
ووصفت الصحيفة الأميركية هذه التغييرات بـ"النقلة الزلزالية المحفوفة بالمخاطر، حيث تعد مقاطع الفيديو الخاصة بالأطفال من أكثر مقاطع الفيديو شعبية على يوتيوب، وتدر إعلاناتها ملايين الدولارات".
ويضغط بعض موظفي "يوتيوب" على تعديل مهم آخر، هو تشجيع الشركة على إيقاف التشغيل التلقائي لمقاطع الفيديوهات المتعلقة بمحتوى الأطفال.
ورغم أن هذه الميزة، المعروفة باسم "توصيات يوتيوب"، ساعدت في زيادة نسبة الساعات التي يقضيها المستخدمون، فهي فتحت الباب أيضا لانتقاد الشركة، فبدلا من أن يختار الأطفال والآباء مقاطع فيديوغير ضارة، يتم تحويلهم تلقائيا إلى فيديوهات تكون غير مناسبة أحيانا.
وقال أشخاص مطلعون على هذه الاقتراحات إن الدافع وراءها هو التحقيق المستمر الذي تجريه لجنة التجارة الفيدرالية الأميركية.
وقد بدأ التحقيق، العام الماضي، عندما اتهمت مجموعات شركة "ألفابت" التي تمتلك "غوغل" و"يوتيوب" باستغلال شعبية موقع التسجيلات المصورة بين الأطفال لجمع البيانات بشكل غير قانوني عمن هم دون الـ13 عاما دون موافقة والديهم، على حد قول المصادر لـ"وول ستريت جورنال".
وزعم المشتكون أيضا أن الموقع يعرض محتوى غير لائق للأطفال.
وفي المقابل، قالت الشركة إنها أنشأت في عام 2015 موقع "يوتيوب كيدز"، الذي لا يجمع البيانات عن القصر لمعالجة مثل تلك المخاوف.
وشهدت السنوات الأخيرة نموا لموقع "يوتيوب" حتى أصبح قوة إعلامية، وتقول الشركة إن المستخدمين يشاهدون مليار ساعة من المحتوى كل يوم.
وستكون التغييرات المحتملة، رغم أنها لا تزال قيد المناقشة ولا تعد وشيكة، من بين أكبر التغييرات على الإطلاق في الموقع، حسبما ذكرت الصحيفة.
ونقلت "وول ستريت جورنال" عن متحدثة باسم "يوتيوب" قولها: "نحن ننظر في الكثير من المقترحات لتحسين موقع يوتيوب، وبعضها يبقى مجرد أفكار".
