أعلنت رئيسة وزراء بريطانيا تيزيرا ماي، اليوم الجمعة، أنها ستستقيل في السابع من يونيو المقبل، في خطوة تمثل تلبية لمطالب من داخل حزب المحافظين الذي تتزعمه وتمهد الطريق أمام تولي زعيم جديد يحاول كسر الجمود الذي يكتنف عملية خروج بريطانيا من الاتحاد الأوروبي.
وقالت ماي "أصبح من الواضح لي الآن أن مصلحة البلاد تقتضي وجود رئيس وزراء جديد ليقود هذه الجهود. لذا أعلن اليوم أنني سأستقيل من زعامة حزب المحافظين يوم الجمعة السابع من يونيو".
