قال محمد عبد النباوي، رئيس النيابة العامة، إن العدالة الجنائية مدعوة لاتخاذ كل التدابير الممكنة لمكافحة الاتجار بالبشر، سيما بالنسبة لبلدنا الذي يَستقطب حركية كبيرة للمهاجرين، سواء الراغبين في العبور نحو أوروبا، أو الذين يستقرون بالمملكة.
وأضاف عبد النباوي، في كلمته، اليوم الإثنين، في اليوم التواصلي حول الاتجار بالبشر، المنظم بمقر الرئاسة العامة، أن رئاسة النيابة العامة تضع مكافحة جريمة الاتجار بالبشر في صلب اهتمامات السياسة الجنائية، في حرص منها على تنفيذ إرادة المشرع المغربي المتجلية في القانون المتعلق بمكافحة الاتجار بالبشر، الذي يوفر إطارا ملائما لزجر المتجرين بالبشر من جهة، ويؤَمِّن حمايةً قانونية لضحايا هذه الجريمة البشعة من جهة أخرى.
وأكد المتحدث، أن الظروف الاقتصادية والاجتماعية للمهاجرين، تجعلهم فريسة سهلة ليصبحوا ضحايا للاتجار في البشر سواء من طرف شبكات الاتجار في البشر، عن طريق الاستغلال الجنسي أو الجسدي. أو من طرف الوسطاء ووكالات الوساطة في الخدمة في المنازل، التي تستورد العمال من بعض الدول الأجنبية. بالإضافة إلى استقطاب بعض المواطنات المغربيات لتهجيرهن نحو بعض الدول الأجنبية من أجل العمل، ثم سرعان ما يجدن أنفسهن ضحايا لشبكات الاتجار بالبشر.
وشدد رئيس النيابة العامة، على  أن مكافحة جريمة الاتجار بالبشر، تطرح على السياسة الجنائية تحديات استثنائية تدعو إلى تهيئ سلطات البحث والتحري للتعرف على ضحايا هذه الجريمة من جهة. كما تتطلب تشجيع الضحايا أنفسهم، وعامة الأشخاص في المجتمع على التبليغ عن هذه الجريمة. وتحسيسهم بخطورتها، وتعريفهم على أركانها والوسائل التي ترتكب بها. وطمأنة الضحايا على وضعيتهم وعلى حمايتهم
