تم يوم أمس الجمعة 23 نونبر، بمناسبة انعقاد قمة أفريستي 2018 بمراكش، انتخاب عمدة ليبروفيل روز كريستيان أسوكا، رئيسة جديدة لمنظمة المدن والحكومات المحلية المتحدة لإفريقيا، لولاية تمتد ثلاث سنوات.
كما تم انتخاب رئيس الجمعية المغربية لرؤساء مجالس الجماعات، محمد بودرة، نائب الرئيسة لإفريقيا الشمالية.
وبذلك ستخلف روز كريستيان أسوكا الرئيس السابق للمنظمة جون بيير إليونغ مباسي، الذي شغل هذا المنصب لولايتين متتاليتين.
يذكر أن المكتب التنفيذي لمنظمة المدن والحكومات المحلية المتحدة الافريقية هو الهيئة المكلفة بالإدارة السياسية للمنظمة، ويضم 16 عضوا ، 15 منهم يمثلون 5 مناطق بالقارة (3 أعضاء لكل منطقة)، وتنضاف إليهم رئيسة شبكة النساء المنتخبات المحليات بإفريقيا.
