وأضافت ذات المصادر أن هذه الوحدة ساهمت أيضا في الحد من الفوضى التي يعرفها الارشاد الجبلي في هذه المنطقة، اٍذ تم منع عدد من الجولات السياحية التي تتم بدون مرشد جبلي محترف، أو تلك التي يتزعهما أفراد لا علاقة بالارشاد السياحي، وذلك بهدف حماية السياح المغاربة والأجانب من أي ضرر قد يلحقهم.
وتأتي هذه الوحدة الأمنية التي تم بنائها وتجهيزها السنة الماضية من قبل السلطات الاقليمية بالحوز، بعد جريمة شمهروش التي راحت ضحيتها سائحتين اسكندنافيتين ذبحا من قبل اٍرهابيين.
كما أن الغاية من اٍحداث هذه الوحدة التابعة لجهاز الدرك الملكي بالحوز، حماية عشاق السياحة الجبلية من أي اعتداء قد يصيبهم خلال جولاتهم السياحية، وكذا تنقيط المشتبه بهم، وتأمين المحيط السياحي لمنطقتي توبقال وشمهروش.
