ارتفع عدد المرضى بسبب السجائر الإلكترونية في الولايات المتحدة مرة أخرى، حيث وصل إلى أكثر من 1800، وذلك في أحدث أرقام تكشف تزايد ارتفاع أعداد الجرحى.
وذكرت المراكز الأميركية لمكافحة الأمراض والوقاية منها، الخميس، أن 1888 حالة إصابة مؤكدة ومحتملة تم الإبلاغ عنها في 49 ولاية، ويشمل هذا 37 حالة وفاة في 24 ولاية.
وإجمالا يزيد هذا بواقع 284 حالة على ما ذكرت الحكومة الأسبوع الماضي وزيادة أكبر مما شوهد في عدة أسابيع.
وقال مسؤولون إن التباطؤ السابق، كان يمكن أن يكون سببه التأخير في الإبلاغ، إلا أن انتشار الأمراض من هذا النوع بدأ في مارس الماضي.
ولم يتم الربط مباشرة بين أي عنصر أو نوع معين من السجائر الإلكترونية بجميع الأمراض.
وقال معظم الذين مرضوا أنهم دخنوا المنتجات، التي تحتوي على مادة تي إتش سي المكون المسبب تنشيط الخلايا العصبية في الماريغوانا.
