حسب معطيات القطاع المكلف بالسكنى، ففي سنة 2018 ،بلغ عدد القاطنين بدور الصفيح حوالي 472.723 أسرة، بالإضافة الى 43.734 مبنى سكني آيل للسقوط تقطنه حوالي أسرة 84.148 .
أوضح تقرير المجلس الأعلى للحسابات الأخير أن الدولة اعتمدت عدة برامج وإجراءات لمعالجة السكن غير اللائق، خاصة برنامج « مدن بدون صفيح »، وإعادة هيكلة الأحياء ناقصة التجهيز، والتدخلات المتعلقة بالمباني السكنية الآيلة للسقوط، بالإضافة إلى تشجيع عرض السكن الاجتماعي أو ذي القيمة العقارية المنخفضة.
وتوقف المجلس عند حصيلة هذه التدخلات،مسجلا تباين الانجازات. فبالنسبة لبرنامج « مدن بدون صفيح »، ومنذ إطلاقه سنة 2004 ،لوحظ أن عدد الأسر استمر في الارتفاع. فانطلاقا من هدف 270.000 أسرة، وصل هذا العدد إلى 472.723 في سنة 2018 ،أي بزيادة 75 % مقارنة بالهدف الأولي، وبمتوسط زيادة سنوي يزيد عن 10.669 أسرة،
