ضمن المنتخب الوطني المغربي العبور إلى نهائيات كأس الأمم الأفريقية المقرر إقامتها بالكاميرون ،بعدما انتهت المباراة التي جمعت منتخب بوروندي مع نظيره إفريقيا الوسطى بالتعادل الايجابي هدفين في كل شبكة.
وجاء تأهل المنتخب المغربي إلى هذه التظاهرة القارية قبل المواجهة المرتقبة مساء يومه الجمعة 26 مارس 2021 برسم الجولة الخامسة من تصفيات كأس الأمم الافريقية بين ابناء خليلوزيتش ومنتخب موريتانيا.
و يحتل المغرب حاليا المرتبة الأولى في مجموعته بعشر نقاط ، متبوعا ببوروندي 5 نقاط ، موريتانيا 5 ، افريقيا الوسطى 4 نقط.
و سقط منتخب بوروندي، في فخ التعادل الإيجابي، بهدفين لمثلهما، أمام ضيفه منتخب جمهورية إفريقيا الوسطى.
