خبراء يكشفون ‘عيبا’ في فحوص كورونا بـ’مسحة الأنف’

نبه عدد من خبراء الصحة، إلى أن تقنية فحص كورونا الحالية عن طريق مسحة الأنف (PCR)، يشوبها عيب كبير، رغم قدرتها على تحديد الإصابة بالعدوى المؤدية إلى مرض "كوفيد 19".

وبحسب ما نقلت صحيفة "نيويورك تايمز"، فإن هذه التقنية تعتمدُ على مبدأ "(نعم – لا)؛ أي هل الشخص مصابٌ بالعدوى أم إنه سليم، لكن دون أن تكشف منسوب الفيروس أو مقدار شحنته في جسم الإنسان.

أما الحل الذي يقترحه خبراء الصحة فهو إجراء الفحص السريع لكورونا، لأنه يجري عن طريق أخذ عينة دم من الأصبع، فيقدم بيانات أكثر تفصيلا.

ويثار الجدل حول الفحص وطرق إجرائه بعدما قالت المراكز الأميركية لمراقبة الأمراض والوقاية منها، إن بعض الأشخاص، مثل المخالطين ومن لا تظهر عليهم أعراض، قد لا يحتاجون إلى إجراء فحوص كورونا.

وانتقد العالم المختص في علم الفروسات بجامعة هارفارد، مايكل مينا، هذا التقييم الجديد من قبل الهيئة الصحية المرموقة، واصفا إياه بـ"خطوة إلى الوراء" في التصدي للجائحة.

وقال الأكاديمي الأميركي إنه من الضروري أن يكون ثمة فحص لكافة الناس، لكن من خلال آليات مختلفة، أي تفادي اعتماد طريقة واحدة فقط للكشف عن الإصابة.

وفي خطوة ضمن هذا الاتجاه، أعلنت إدارة الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، يوم الخميس الماضي، نيتها شراء 150 مليون فحص سريع.

وفي حالة فيروسات أخرى، يستطيع فحص "PCR" أن يكشف منسوب شحنة الفيروس في جسم الإنسان، لكن الفحص الذي يجري لكورونا المستجد في الوقت الحالي لا يشمل هذه الجوانب.

وتحظى هذه الجوانب بالأهمية لأن شحنة الفيروس في جسم الإنسان هي التي تحدد ما إذا كان قادرا بقوة على أن ينقل العدوى إلى غيره.

وبوسع تحديد هذه الشحنة أن يساعد مسؤولي الصحة على تحديد الأشخاص الذين يجدر بهم أن يخضعوا لعزل أكثر صرامة، إلى جانب تخفيف القيود عن المصابين الذين يحملون نسبة محدودة جدا من الفيروس.

وفي وقت سابق، وجد مسؤولون صحيون في ولايات ماساشوستس ونيويورك ونيفادا أن 90 في المئة ممن شخصت حالتهم بالإيجابية يحملون شحنة ضئيلة جدا من فيروس كورونا.
