تعرض العشرات من زبناء بنك cih، لعملية اختلاس، بعدما اكتشفوا في كشف حساباتهم أموال منقوصة مرتبطة بعمليات بالبطاقة البنكية في موقع شركة تكنولوجية عالمية، أكدوا أنهم لم يقوموا بها.
ووعد البنك جميع المتضررين بتعويضهم، بعدما تلقى عدة شكايات، كما تم على الفور حظر الموقع الإلكتروني المستهدف.
وأوضح البنك في بيان توضيحي أنه بعد تحليل دقيق، اتضح أن الأمر لا يتعلق نهائيا بثغرة في النظام البنكي، بل قد يكون عبارة عن عملية اختلاسية لبيانات بطاقات من مواقع وهمية همت البطاقات التابعة لبنوك مختلفة وفي بلدان عدة.
